What exactly is “YOU” the EP?? Well let’s start off with what it’s not. It’s not a bunch of catchy hooks and “club bangers”. It’s not some watered down pop music for you to get jiggy with. It’s not some super gimmicky new wave hip-hop hipster bullshit for to drink pabst blue ribbon to. I don’t even want to say “It’s just pure hip-hop” because that’s cliché as fuck and it’s not. It’s just pure Shyfty Semantics. Which is why it’s called; “YOU”… Stay with me now. The theme of this album is “do you”, so that’s exactly what I did. “YOU” is ME splayed out over six glorious instrumentals all composed by the ever-talented CrazB Notext. We chose to focus more on my lyrical content and showcasing the beats rather than catchy choruses for yall to sing along too. We’re saving all that good shit for my full length album coming out in the very near future. Consider “YOU” a 15 minute introduction to my overly-cynical backwards brain, my enormous ego, and my somewhat pretentious philosophies that I hope yall can relate to so you can enjoy it and DO YOU while doing so!
